Hello! I'm new!!!

Hello! Just joined Boxer World and am eager to see what kind of info and support this site has to offer. I adopted a 3 year old female Boxer this past year and am in love!! Kodi (Kodiak) is a beautiful brindle girl with a black face. We also have a chihuahua and every day is comedy!! Kodi is such a ham and is the best companion. She has had numerous health problems but we are dealing with each one as they come up. Allergies being the worst. Just found out she has scar tissue on her eye's from past eye infections. We found this out because she was at the vet for Vaginitis!!! Not to mention ear infections and allergies! Whew. After a pile of money we are on the road to recovery. Anything to make her better. Any info on allergies would be great!

Our family had a chihuahua for 16 years. That is great you rescued Kodi. I am sure you will find info on allergies on here. My boxer has allergic reactions to bee stings, which is no fun. Thanks for all the great welcomes! Linda - my chihuahua Macy didn't like Kodi at first but now they are buddies. Macy just tries to stay out of the way mostly. But Kodi seems to have given Macy some confidence! He knows Kodi will back him up Kodi, however, does NOT like most other dogs. I have taken her to obedience classes and am trying to socialize her, but she is seriously out for blood with strange dogs. If she has time to get to know the dog it is fine... But if a dog runs up to her then watch out. The funny thing is that she loves people and kids. Just not into other dogs. She won't hurt cats either.. She has really taken to myself and my husband and is very protective. I don't want her to think this is bad, just would like to have fun with other dogs. Any suggestions?:D

This will probably take time, keep introducing her to other dogs and she will probably come around. Something may have happened to her with another dog and shes just not sure. Good Luck

Thanks for all the support!! I have recently had some veterinary emergencies with Kodi but all seems to be better now. She is back to her old self and is so excited as spring is here and summer is the best in Alaska. The animals sense it and go nutz! Does anyone have any advice for seasonal alopecia? I think Kodi has it and I was wondering if it will go away on its own?? Thanks for the help!!!
