HI, my name is Misty. My family which consists of hubby, 4 children (3 boys and 1 girl) and now our new 8 and 1/2 week old boxer. She has been quite the handful but we are all falling so much more in love with her everyday. She is such a cuddle bug it is quite pathetic. As I sit here trying to write she is attempting to get comfortable in my lap. From what I understand in all the research I did I had better get used to it. LOL

Congratulation on you new baby and welcome to BW. One very important thing to do is to socialize, socialize, socialize. Bring your puppy go friends houses with dogs and try to introduce everything that she maybe exposed to in her lifetime. Also, you should pick up the book "The dog Listener", by Jane Fennell because it is important to establish your dogs position in your "pack". With children running around it is very easy for a dog to get confused that the kids are higher in the hierarchy then the dog

Boxers are fun and you will totally enjoy yours I am sure.

Hi Misty and welcome to BW! So...what's puppies name?
You are going to love it here at BW!! People here are so friendly and helpful! And yup...you are going to have to get use to having a large dog who thinks it's a lap dog! My Xena just turned 7 and she thinks all (almost 60lbs) of her fits nicely in one's lap!:rolleyes: Happy posting and looking forward to some pics!

Welcome! Yes, Oskar is 7.5 months and thinks he's a 10lb lap dog he doesn't realize memmy's lap isn't very big! I don't mind though!!!

Thank you everyone who welcomed me to BW. To those who asked we named our little girl Miss Molly. I am trying to figure out how to make my picture smaller so I can post one of her. I spent hours yesterday trying to figure it out. But you can bet just as soon as I do you will all get to see my newest baby.
I cannot believe the energy she has at 4:00 in the morning. I thought only babies had nights and days mixed up. I get home from work at 4:00 am and take her for a walk everyday at that time in hopes she will stay calm for a while so I can sleep. Instead she usually sleeps in the afternoons when I'm busy doing housework. Oh well, I figure she will eventually become my sleeping partner (after hubby leaves for work in the morning) and I won't be able to keep her off my bed then. Good thing we have a king size.
