Jord&Kobe
Boxer Pal
Hi All!
I was priviledged enough to meet my buddy kobe about 3.5 years ago. He was 6 monthes old when I first brought him home. I had spoken with a gentleman who said he knew alot of breeders and could get me a 6 month old boxer. I didn't want a puppy since I had just gone through that with my parent's pup (a german shorthaired pointer) and did not want to do it again.
Anyhow, He found me this pooch, his face was magnificient. However, when I brought him to the vet, he had broken ribs, and parasites and was very skinny. He also was TERRIFIED of everything. It just broke my heart. I paid full price without question, I just wanted to get this dog away from whereever he was that was hurting him. For the first few monthes he was hiding from everyone, messing the house when he got scared. I didn't care though, cause within weeks, he would get so excited when he saw me after work. The joy it gave me to be able to help him through this horrible time and grow as a dog was incredible.
Through a lot of love and exposure to nice people Kobe is now 4 years old and a joy to be around. He still gets nervous with loud noises and new people but to those he trusts he is unforgettable. He walks perfectly off leash, stays by my side always and he listens better then any pooch i have ever trained. Hmm come to think about it, I probably listen better then any friend he has ever trained.
I have loved looking at all your pictures, and just posted one of my own in the gallery waiting for approval. I really enjoy reading all of your stories, it really does prove that boxer families are a breed of our own. Jumping out of cars to nibble boxer jowels is one of my favorite passtimes:p
I look forward to being a part of this wonderful community.
