Hello from Minneapolis, Minnesota!

Hi!
I am new to the group and just wanted to introduce myself. My husband and I have 2 beautiful fur babies! Sergeant, just 2 yrs old and Lady, just about to turn 1. The "kids" are affectionately know as "Bubba" and "Bug", respectively.
I have visited the site many times and was just finally able to register as a member and I am very excited!

I know. I have been viewing this site for almost a year and every time I tried to register the site was not taking anymore people. I finally got in in Dec. but just introduced us tonight. Anyways.. I assume "Bubba" is the male. We have a year old male named Caesar. I was wondering if you might have encountered a bad shedding problem with Bubba. Our dog sheds like crazy. He should be bald by now but the hair doesnt seem to stop. Also, I am really at a cross roads about getting him neutered or not. He is not aggressive at all. Although, my mother in-law has a 7 yr old 110lb sheppard and every time I bring Caesar over the house..well you know..he is very determined. Wow. a little too much info and homemade wine working over here. Sorry. Any info would be helpful.

Yep, "Bubba" is our male. I wouldn't say that I have noticed a shedding problem per se, more just the seasonal shedding. You know, he's losing more now that the weather is getting warmer, it'll let up soon. Have you noticed whether or not it's seasonal?

The neutering thing, that's a tough one.....everybody has their own opinions of course but I feel that if you aren't going to breed them, there is no reason to keep them intact, unless of course you are showing them. There are so many health benefits to getting them neutered, it decreases their chances for cancer which is certainly not a bad thing! And that whole "determined" thing , I think it is more about dominance than anything. Bubba still goes after Bug sometimes and they are both "fixed". When we first got Bug she would "hump" him like crazy......funniest thing I've ever seen! Pretty sure she was just trying to establish dominance, funny thing is, she weighs about 40lbs less than him and she definitely "rules the roost"!
