My name is Mike, and I live in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. I have been registered on Boxerworld for some time, but this is my first time ever posting here. I currently live with my wife of almost 22 years, an almost 10 year old female brindle Boxer named Sadie, an almost 9 year old brown female Doberman Pinscher (officially would be classified as red) named Brandy, a black female Doberman Pinscher ( I lost track of her age, but she is younger than the others) named Bobbie Jo, and three cats. I had a male fawn Boxer named Sarge that passed away on November 30th of last year. All dogs with docked tails and natural ears. My male Boxer was the first dog I had as an adult. He was my pride and joy. I still miss him. My wife and I never had dogs before that because I really didn't like dogs that well. Now, people that know me find that hard to believe. I used to walk all 4 dogs together. Before I got the fourth dog, I would sometimes walk on the street where I live with three dogs on my left side, and one of my cats on the right side. However, I never followed up on this with the cat. I plan on having more Boxers.

Welcome to BW! Sounds like you're seriously outnumbered by the females now.... :p

I am truly sorry to hear about the loss of your male boxer - I just lost my little chihuahua companion of 14 years back in July. Dogs just don't live long enough, especially the good ones.

Looking forward to some pictures of your current boxer and dobies, and hoping you'll keep us posted when your next boxer finds his/her way into your life.

I don't think I have ever communicated with anybody from Russia before.

I am definitely outnumbered by females, but one of my cats is male.

I grew up with a Chihuahua in our home. I think she died when I was about 18 years old.

I can tell a few things that I think are a little amusing. Like when people would be at my house, and I would ask people if they ever seen anything like this, I get my cat's leash out, and she would come running. Most people had never seen a cat come running to go for a walk on a leash.

My dog Sarge appeared to be a music critic. When my wife would whistle or hum the theme to Jeopardy, he would start barking furiously. Not whistling other tunes, just this one. When I would sing (or pretend to) a certain song, he would bark furiously, but only that one. I used to take him with me to different people's houses. One time we were celebrating New Year's at some friends house, and he was with me. There was a couple there that sang. When the one person sang, Sarge didn't do anything. But, when the other person started singing, Sarge started howling.

This was never taught him, but if my wife said help, he would come running ready to protect. and I assure you he was ready to protect. If I said help, it was almost like he was deaf. I have no idea why it was that way.

When Sarge and Sadie were fairly young, one time each was tugging on opposite ends of a tug toy. Sarge was pulling her across the room (and quite a distance). Sarge let go and was going to try to grip it again, but Sadie took off running with it. It may not sound very funny reading it, but to me, it was hilarious watching it. That was the only time that ever happened.

My cats like to play fetch with their little rattle mice, they will chase it and bring it back to you every time so you can throw it again. It is so cute!! And if you ignore them when they bring it back, they will stand on your feet (or bite them) to let you know they are there waiting!!
I'm afraid they would run from a leash though!!
