My how this website has changed much! I used to log onto boxerworld about 6 years ago, and it's changed alot! I had a fawn boxer named Cody, and he was 5 years old and died of cardio-myopathy last Christmas. It was so hard for me. I didn't think I could ever get another boxer because it reminded me of him. But I would always see boxers at the park and other places, and I really missed them. So this Christmas (well, a few days after) I was able to rescue one from the pound. He is a 4 year old Brindle. He is very skinny, and did have a tag on him that says "medication needed" I took him to the vet, and other than his weight he seems very healthy. He does have alot of gas, but it may be the food change. I will just have to monitor it. But I am so glad to have a boxer in my life again. He is very well behaved, very gentle with children, house trained, and is already being very protective when someone is knocking at the door. I am glad to read the posts regarding nutrition, and have been giving him satin balls to gain weight (which I think is what is giving him gas) I've also bought him Chicken Soup, which I noticed alot of people here are using. I am very thankful for this website, and will continue to post on his progress.
P.S. still trying to name him. His name at the pound was "shadow" but I don't like it. I've heard it's best to change their name to something that sounds similar so they will learn quicker, but I'm having a hard time finding something that rhymes with shadow.
