My name is Paul and I own a two year old brindle boxer name Abby. She's great with my 6 month old daughter and is a great toy for her.

Abby spends a good bit of the day outside and comes and goes as she pleases, I put in Radio fence and she doesn't try to run through it anymore.

hi paul glad to have you and abby. I do not know what a radio fence is but if it is some sort of electric fence that is a no no here.

It is an electric fence. I trained her on it when she was a puppy (9-10 months) on the lowest level and spent a few weeks training. She knows her boundaries and has two acres to roam through. Building a fence would have gave her less space and would have cost a bit more. I always keep an eye on her outside but haven't had her get out even once after she was trained and spayed.

Hi Paul -

Welcome to Boxerworld.

Please take this opportunity to re-read the Rules. Specifically, the following is prohibited:

Discussion of devices or practices that cause electricity to run through a dog. This includes shock collars and electronic fencing.

as well as:

Discussion of deliberate use of devices or practices that cause or have the potential to cause physical trauma to a dog. Boxerworld does recognise that people do have genuine questions regarding training tools (choke chains, prong collars, mousetraps etc) and methods, but we support and promote wholeheartedly positive training and behaviour management, that is, teaching the dog what to do by using positive methods, not teaching a dog what not to do by causing it discomfort and pain. Any threads which appear to promote "negative" training and methods will be closed.

The Rules can be found at www.boxerworld.com/rules
