Hello! My name is Erin. I joined this site because our family truely has a love for boxers. We got Bindee for Christmas and she is now 4 months old. We also have our old man ... Brock. He is a whooping 11 years old!! We got really devestating news yesterday afternoon that Brock is in heartfailure. Needless to say my world is torn apart. All I have done is cried. I am scared to death of life without my main man. I don't know really how to even deal with this because it hurts so bad. We got Bindee thinking that when this news came it would make it a little bit more bearable ...but it hasn't. I am sick to my stomach and I feel so lost. Does anyone out there have a magic wand to make this all go away?? I know in my heart we have been so very blessed because we have gotten more time with Brock than alot of people get with their boxers. He is just my baby, my husbands best friend, my security, my love, my heart... I guess you all know. This is kind of a "yuck" intriduction but I need some support here because my world is turn upside down. How do you begin to deal with something so devestating? I guess as my introduction ....this stinks. I am just in a place now where life just really stinks and my heart has such an ache.

Hi and welcome!
This a wonderful place to come for support and help. I came here when my little girl was having heart troubles at just 4-5 months old, and I was so freaked out. Everyone helped me with information, encouragement and made me a boxer know-it-all! I know how strong you love for your baby must be after so many years, just by knowing how much I love my girl after not even one year.. Enjoy him as much as you can! Stop thinking about the pain (or at least try) and think about the happy, fun stuff. Stay active, create happy memories for yourself! It will get better in time, even though it doesn't seem like it...
Elsa and I send all of our wiggles, licks and good vibes over to you and your babies. Hang in there girl.

Well last night we had to rush Brock into the vet. He had an xray and it shows fluid in his lungs and his heart is slightly enlarged. His heartbeat was really irregular. They wanted to keep him and do an IV with Lasik(spelling may be wrong on that) then today to do an ultrasound and send it off to the cardiologist. They werent sure id he would pull through the night or what but he did. We are awaiting to hear from the vet to see where we are at. My biggest fear is that we are stessing him out and doing more harm than good but the vet felt this was the only chance he has to find the cause and try to stop it. They say it takes time to find the right medications as well ans she fears we dont have that time. I feel so lost. The hardest thing yet so far was leaving him there last night. Does anyone out there have a story similar to this that was a success?? I am so scared he isnt going to make it home.
