Hi from northern Il. We have added a boxer pup to our household. He is now 6months and is what I think is flashy fawn. His name is Cody. We have had him about a month and are in love. My husband had boxers as a kid growing up, and has wanted one for a long time. We recently moved, and there is a very well behaved adult around the corner and everytime we would pass him, my husband would go on and on about them. I never thought I would think they were any different than any other dog or pet, but he is really something! He is so smart, and sweet. He has his little difficulties, that is how I came upon this board, but we will overcome them and he is going to be a great addition to our already very pet friendly household. We have 3 kids, 17, 10 and a 9yr. Out pet kids are a Conure, some fish, a rat, 2 cats a Westie and a Pappilon. I have had a problem with my boxers diet and have been reading all I can find on foods and have tried a few with not good results. He will go into the vet the end of the week if I can not get his little tummy straightened out. Other than that he is just the smartest, sweetest pup I think I ever have owned. I look forward to learning lots, and maybe sharing some too.

Welcome! Your house must be very busy! Congrats on the addition of a boxer...your husband is right :o don't tell him:o boxers are the best! You will never regret the decision to add one or two

Hi Laura, thanks for the welcome! I think our house is full now. We just moved in July and it is a smaller house, so I think we are at our limit. I have noticed that many boxer owners here have more than one in their household. I have met a few at the dog park, and they seem to get along well with other dogs. Ours sure likes my pap., but he knows already that our Westie is the boss here. Very funny to see the boxer try to get the westie to play, and he will just not give up until he has gotten him to roust about a bit, then the boxer is happy. The westie is 11 this year, one reason I wanted to get another dog. The westie is in good health, but you never know.
