Boxer Pal
Hi, My Girlfriend and I just got our first boxer 3 weeks ago. His name is Breaker and has been a wonderful addition to our family (2 cats no kids).

He has a wonderful temperment, and is getting along quite well with our 10 year old cat (actually a little too well, as he seems to want to straddle the cat all the time. Is this a dominance thing, or just playing at this age (11 weeks).

I'm sure we will be posting more questions, as this is our first boxer (I've had Labs and Martta has had a few breeds), so until then all

Cheers,
Rob, Martta, and of course, Breaker

Welcome to BW

You are definately in for some interesting times living with a boxer puppy. I, too, have had my share of different breeds of puppies and mutts, but this boxer puppy, ShaKira, is one different kind of puppy. She is very intelligent and is constantly thinking of what to do next. You definately have to be one step ahead of them all the time if this is possible. Prepare for you puppy to grow fast, mine grew from 4 lbs. on Dec. 20 to 44 lbs. on May 20. About the dominence thing, I believe that he is just being a boxer puppy, they are very playful. Enjoy your baby and enjoy the forums here at boxer world.

Boxer Insane
Rob, Martta & Breaker welcome to BW, it is always good to welcome another Canuck! (We are keeping our fingers crossed for the Flames). Once you have been owned by a Boxer, that is it smashicon , no other breed will do.
All your cat has to do is just give Breaker one swat of it's paw and he may back off a bit, I think it could be a bit of both, playing and dominance.
