Boxer Pal
I recall lurking on this site several years ago and when I stumbled across it again I decided to join, so hello!
At the moment there's only one boxer in the house, a six y/o brindle named Bailey. We also have two little kids and an elderly chihuahua (yikes). We live in a pretty rural area west of Chicago, lots of room to run and play, but always keeping an eye out for the coyotes. Our dogs are of course house dogs. (And often on-the-furniture and in-the-bed dogs.)
I have had many dogs of many different breeds in my lifetime (my family used to show English Bulldogs and English Mastiffs), but never a boxer until my 14 y/o lab and childhood best friend passed away. My husband talked me into getting a boxer, and let me tell you, I have definitely found "my" breed. I don't think I'll ever have any other breed of dog. What a super personality. Bailey is now six, still our first boxer but certainly not our last. I'd love to get more or foster rescue dogs, but it just wouldn't be fair to the chihuahua. He's a good sport and has an excellent temperament for his breed, but I don't want to see him get hurt or upset the balance we have in our "pack". I think he deserves to enjoy his senior years in (relative) peace.
Anyway, this looks like a great board and I look forward to meeting new folks here!

. I wasn't a dog person until Jazzy came into my life. Since then we bought one more puppy and rescued an adult boxer. We also have three kids, two outside cats, and two birds. We may have to buy a bigger house. It gets hectic but there is alot of love under this roof.
