Tiggmonster

Boxer Pal
Hi there I am a proud owner of a soon to be 5yr old male boxer (brindle) tigger. He has been a blessing esp in the rough time we had this year (loss of our son) . Well i have been looking into rescue programs and came across a female boxer(sadie) she is 3 and fixed. So is tigger. We brought her home yesterday. We knew she had issues with cats , we have none but were warned. Well anyways she at times gets nasty towards tigger, first was over a bone. Tigger has no intention if taking it, he just walked by her and she snapped. after the 3rd time of correcting her and tellher thats not allowed, i took it and put it away. 2nd issue is she kept getting up and going intot he basement( her crate is there) she she messed a few times (4 lil spots of pee and one poop) i could not correct her because i did not whitness it. Any clue to what is going on? could it be because she was in a kennel and didnt know anybetter?? Thanks Soo much. Greg

Because it is a new enviornment she takes time to get the ida. Especially hard is seperate floors. My sister has a huge 3 floor house and it too her dog forever to realize the basement (finished) was not outside. Usually it means you are giving too much freedom too soon.

As with the bone issue. I would not give bones or valued toys left out for about a month. Wait until they have established themselves. If there is still an issue I would crate Sadie when she had a bone.

Good luck and congrats on your new addition. The transition often is rocky but it works out if you remain calm and consistent.
