For your girl, how about Gabby, I lost her last year she was 13 years old and 'the best'. Re. food well it hurts me to promote American, but I must say that Nutro is superb. I've fed Boxers for 40 years and found nothing better

I am thinking of going with the BARF diet. Is it ok to start the puppies off with this diet, they are 7 weeks old. Any suggestions on whats the best thing to feed them at this young age.

First of all I would purchase Dr. Billinghurst's “Grow Your Pups With Bones" and his other books. Check out BARF WORLD web site. Dr. Billinghurst's has a large variety of supplements, pre-made meals etc.
Second, now that you have the time (before the pups arrive) read all the treads the the BARF section. You will become a master BARFer afterwards.
If you have any question the other BW BARFers are happy to help.
I know that you can feed puppies BARF. I would definitely ground up perhaps chicken necks (bones). Another idea is to purchase commerical Barf meals.

I would find a Holistic Vet (before the pups arrive) that has knowledge of Barfing puppies and go with their advice. Some Holistic Vets made not agree with BARFing - don't give up - keep looking. It's the best diet in the world.

A soggy welcome!

Congratulations on your two new additions and a soggy welcome from the Mountains of Western North Carolina! Try the BARF diet, but start slow and get to know your puppys "functions" first. My Harney can't do bones. He loves them and gobbles them up like a champ but then 5 or so hours later does the super hurl to get them back out of his poor tummy. It makes me sad because everything I've read about the BARF diet tells me it is the best choice you can make for your furbabies. If your two do ok with bones then go for it!

Thanks everyone for the great info. We named our girl Cookie and our male is still Payton. After a lot of research about the BARF diet we decided to go with the kibble. For anyone wondering a good kibble......I went with Canidae and I must say it seems to be a very good food. Nice firm stools and they don't smell. I am also going to go with some veggies soon. Thanks again and I will keep updating everyone on my growing boxers.

Two pup are great

We have always just had one boxer at a time. When Duchess went to the bridge, we got 2 pups. It has been great. They are so gret to watch them play. You made a good decision.
