Hi, i am just introducing myself, I like the website so far, it's a great resource for boxer info.

about three weeks ago we got a Brindle boy, we have named him "chuy" (chewy) short for chewbacca.

he is cool, sometimes a bit too bouncy and he likes to nip at us, when walking, when we play, he nibbles on my 20 month old daughter(he tries to play rough with her), he is about 10 1/2 weeks old. maybe that should be posted in the behavior forum, otherwise he's a very fun dog.

anyway nice to meet you fellow boxer friends.

Hi...

Welcome to the forums. A 10 1/2 week old puppy is a baby and will do baby things. A 20 month old human is also a baby and not able to deal with a playful puppy... that's the adult human's task at this point in their lives. Puppies need to learn not to nip humans even in play.

This can usually be dealt with by having only... repeat, only... supervised play times for puppy and baby. The adult should gently and consistently correct the puppy when nipping takes place. He or she will eventually learn not to nip when playing with humans and baby will be no worse for the wear.

Actually, puppy and baby growing up together is a wonderful experience, providing that they are both helped through their "infant" stages by a responsible human.
