We were going to use Heartguard, however after further research, I decided that I did not want to give Cassius an Oral medication, So we went with 'Revolution' which is a topical medication, and it gets better reviews. It costs more though.

Parasite Targets: hookworms, ascarids, heartworm L3,4, fleas, ticks, scabies, Otodectes.

One thing about Revolution, it does not prevent from certain types of worms. I forget now, but we used it for 3-4 mos. & our dogs got hookworms or roundworms. Sorry I can't remember.

Vet said Interceptor covers the most parasite prevention. We have been on it since with no issues.

Friend of mine got a bad batch of Heartguard & her dogs got one of the 2 worms above. HG paid all of her vet bills. She has switched to Interceptor too.

My vet prefers Heartguard Plus. Luckily all my boxers and fosters have loved it and once one it, no worms!

He, like me, believes in giving the dogs the least meds needed. So he doesn't sell any of the multi-month drugs or all inclusive claiming drugs.

I have only used Heartguard Plus and Interceptor.
