Boxer Pal
Hello from Babyrich

Hello,
I just read your story about Lola. I know its about one month old. I wanted to see how Lola was doing? It reminds me of my first boxer Kylo. He just turned five yesterday. I got him when he was 2 weeks old. He was so tiny and helpless. 4 out of his litter died also. Our vet told us that if we wanted this dog to live we had to get him then ( we had pick of the litter). It was a long road. Kylo cried a lot and I carried him around everywhere not to mention the nights that I spent up because he didnt sleep. We bottled fed him for awhile but, now he is a 85 pound healthy boxer and one of the loves of my life. When Kylo turned 3 we decided to get a companion and I also wanted another boxer pup so along came Chief. They are quite the pair.

I wish you luck w/ Lola.

Take Care, Barb

About those heart braking pictures...

I hate to post this: I promised myself that I wouldn't. Yet everyone here is so kind, and thus I owe it to you guys to let you know. That tiny turtle whose beautiful pictures I had posted up, will not be coming to our home. She had so many health problems, and her breeders turned out to be the most dishonest, awful people on earth. I can tell you that I took the necessary steps and measures to make it better for this puppy, and if not her, then the next little baby that will sadly take her place.

It was a very hard decision, and I felt so guilty about it, but I had to stand by my commitment not to support unethical, deceiving and money oriented breeders. It's a cycle that can not be allowed to continue :(

On a brighter note, we were fortunate to have the support of some truly wonderful people. I contacted our local rescue group and got to know them. I also got to know CKC by-laws, procedures for member breeders and other applicable animal legislature. I got advice from caring breeders who truly love their boxers. We will have a puppy from one of them & we are so very excited. The difference in everything is night and day.

She's a girl: she's beautiful, healthy and lives in a happy home. She's adventurous and little rambunctious. The breeder selected her for us based on temperament - not markings: and we could not be happier.

I was going to PM you and ask about your puppy because nothing more was being said about her but was afraid to as I thought maybe something terrible had happened to her. Is she still fighting to live and still so small? My heart broke when I heard what she was 1.5 lbs at 5 weeks because mine weighed almost 5lbs at that age. I know you made a right decision. Good Luck with your new baby.;)
