Health Insurance

Does anyone out there have pet Ins. for their baby? I just looked at a website for the ASPCA and they offer medical coverage at about $20 a month......I'm a little leary.....any info would me much appreciated.

I love the fact that we have health insurance on Luke. We use Petcare and have had them from the begining that we got our babe. Almost 4 years now! There are different plans you can choose from. It really was beneficial for us b/c in the beginning we were getting more money back from it then we actually put in! LOL

But Luke doesn't go to the vet as much anymore. I want to help my baby in anyway that I can and if I can't afford it at the time, the insurance will be able to do that. Were on the Mastercare Plus plan. When we get our 2nd one she will be on that too

Wow, $20 a month is a great price. We just spent $5500 trying to save our female boxer. It was a week from hell. We originally signed off on $2500 worth of testing, to try and find out what was wrong with her. Then we got a call 2 hours later from the specialist that we had to bring her to, that they found a hole in her intestine, and had to do emergency surgery. That could run very high $$$
At this point we were told she would have a 50\50 chance. Of course we opted for the surgery, but she passed away 3 days later. Now we are left with a huge hole in our hearts, and the burden of paying off the vet bills.
Needless to say, we will be looking into insurance, when the time is right for our next boxer.

Going by UK prices that is VERY cheap!

Be sure to get a few quotes though, and check the actual coverage. Sometimes it's worth paying a wee bitty extra to get the extra benefits.
