Head tremors and vaccinations

A few weeks ago Kaia started having head tremors. I'd read about it on here before, so although it freaked me out a little bit, I didn't panic. Like everyone else that has experienced these tremors, it happens right as she's falling asleep.

Now my question is Kaia's scheduled to go in for her yearly shots in a few weeks (the last until we go on the 3 year schedule for vaccinations). Does anyone know if the vaccinations could cause her harm? From what I've read nobody really understands what causes these tremors. I'm just worried about it going from mild head tremors to full blown seizures. Is there any information out there relating the two?

Thanks all!

Hello!
Our puppy (4 months old) has these head tremors before falling asleep, and sometimes, when in rest. Our vets have never seen these tremors in boxers, and were quite worried. As Tana is so young they feared distemper. But the dog eats very well, plays, and develops very well. So I guess it is just these tremors....

Anyway, as it comes from the brain, and the yearly vaccinations have to do with the nerves system, and the brain - the vets suggested to wait at least a month, before vaccinating, to make sure nothing worse develops. And after a month? I hope they find some medical literature, indicating that we can vaccinate the dog...

Best luck. Your pictures are just great.

I am a big believer that we are over vaccinating. As an experiment, I am going with the titer checks one one of my dogs. She was vaccinated at seven weeks and 11 weeks. Her titer levels are still strong at 2.5 years. I just got her latest test results about two weeks ago.

I dropped yearly vaccinations on the rest of my guys 6-7 years ago. At first I was only doing every other year, now every three years.

So, just to be safe, I would ask for a titer test instead of a vaccination. It is good that your vet is going on the three year vaccination schedule.

Cheryl :)
