Head Shakes/Tremors

OMG it's Thanksgiving around 10am and Titan just did the head tremors! I haven't seen this happen to him before. I thought he was dreaming at first and the kids and I were laughing. But then he looked back at my son which required him to be awake and he kept doing it. It only lastesd for about 10minutes, intermitent, but that was really strange. I hope it really is "idiopathic".

Relax and take a breath! Give Titan a treat, as it could just be low blood sugar. Have you changed anything in his diet lately? Or feeding times?


As stated earlier idiopathic just means there is no known cause. But since they exist there is a cause. I would rather know the cause so I can take action.

How old is she? Our old boxer would have them a couple times a year (that we saw) starting around a year old. The vet called them 'focal motor seizures' and explained that they are like a glitch in the brain and nothing to worry about. He could walk and respond to commands during the tremors and didn't seem to have any after affects from them.

He stopped doing them on his own. But it was really weird. So I came to BW to ask about it and someone else had the same question.

I haven't changed anything. But he eats everything so only god knows what he might have eaten.

How old is Titan? Thor started getting them maybe once or twice a year around the age of 4. By 8 yrs they were showing up every month or two, sometimes 2x a month. He was then diagnosed as hypothyroid. Once he was on meds and then the meds adjusted a year later we haven't seen any.

He will be 11 months tomorrow.
