good luck to you! i really feel for you because our mimi would not stop poo pooing in her crate, and she could hold it all night but the moment we left even if only 1 hour--she would poo in her crate! i felt like i was losing my mind. the solution to our problem was to put our other boxer's crate near hers so that they could see each other. she finally stopped after that and that was at five months i think.

dont give up! i told my husband several times that we wouldnt give away our child if he/she kept wetting the bed or having accidents during potty training, so there is no way we would give away our mimi.

since it sounds like you have tried so many things without success, it sounds like an actual physical problem (maybe neurological). maybe this isnt a good comparison, but friends of ours have a daughter who is not completely potty trained at 5 yrs. after so much frustration, they have found out that their daughter doesnt get the sensation to go, so she doesnt realize when she has to go. . .

anyways, hope you can make progress!

love

We requested the vet do a check for UTI while Zeus was in.

I think he just doesn't want to learn, but we will break him down and teach him.

good luck jbiel, i hope all checks out with your dog. i know it can be very frustrating when you have a problem that seems as if you can't fix, since you can't seem to find the root of the cause. i hope that after the vet tests for a UTI you can have some relief from all the wondering.

Urinalysis came back normal the doctor said.

We have been using the Simple Solutions on his cage daily, but the doctor mentioned following the surgery he could have some bladder issues. So I assume it will be about a week before he is back to "normal" where we can tell if the solution is helping.

It appears as the nothing wants to work.

My wife is reluctant to stop using the pee pads, as using something else will require washing it nightly or having to store multiple items until enough is gathered to fill a full load in the washing machine. We both understand that the pee pads are probably an issue here, but there is nothing else we can use that is inexpensive as a disposable source that will soak up the urine.

We are still using the Simple Solutions as a clean up method.

We are both still coming home at lunch time and some days he doesn't pee, others he does, sometimes its A LOT and others it hardly any.

imo, the pee pads are causing him major confusion. they carry a scent that encourages them to pee on them. couldn't you just leave him in his crate without a pee pad and then just clean the urine up from the pan? this would actually be less confusing to your dog.

I think our main concern is that without something to absorb the urine, he will just lay in it.

I am going to try to close the crate in some more also.

Do you think that discontinuing his morning meal help? Just give him a large afternoon meal when I get home or a possible snack when I come home on lunch and his normal dinner time?

I am grasping for straws here I know.

We had a similar problem as you. I would come home at lunch everyday to let Mya out and there would be pee and then no water during the break and then a full cage of pee a few hours later. I made the crate smaller and smaller and she would lay/sit in it. I was giving her a bath every day! I would put a towel in there for her to soak it up (she would too! and then push it aside) but then she started shredding and eating the towels. She was sick with a flu bug of some sort about a month ago and I opened the whole crate for her incase she had an accident and wouldn't you know, she stopped peeing in there. We haven't had a pee episode since. I don't know why. I hope you can figure something out. I know how frustrating it is and how bad those pee towels can get! Good luck :)
