He looks mean

I think Sam looks adorable. People who have never been around a boxer don't appreciate how expressive their faces can be. If they are concentrating, then they look like they're focused or obsessed on something and that may be why they said he looked mean.

Maybe she was looking at a picture where his eyes appear to glow. I used to call it devil eye, it can look wierd. He looks like all of our happy slobbery babies that would lick you to death before biting.

Personally I think he is adorable. :D But I am leary of any dog until I get to know him/her. Ok maybe not boxers...

I don't think he looks mean at all. People tell me that about my Cletus, & I think it may be the black mask, my Susie is a flashy fawn & they don't say she looks mean,but they are scared of Cletus & he's just a big smoosh face baby & Susie is the one that could clean their plow real fast if given half a chance. Mean??!!

Ohh he doesn't look mean to me. He looks like a smooshy face I could kiss all day! But then again, those of us who have the beautiful babies or have been around them enough know that although they might have a bit of an intimidating look or stance or body build..they are nothing but big ol' smoosh pots!

I laugh when people come to my house for the first time..the pull up the long drive way to be greeted by Miss Blizz looking out the window at them..trying to be all mean looking and never taking her eyes off them.. (and yes, at times she does look VERY mean). and then once in the house they realize that she's nothing but a big slobbery baby. shhhhh don't tell the potential robbers...

By the way, your baby has the exact kind of face I am hoping to have on my new baby! I love the all black face! Kisses on his sweet nose from me to you and him!

Not mean at all. Smooshie maybe, but not mean! I have to answer the "are they mean?' question all the time, and my girls are just babies! I think most of it comes from the misunderstanding of the breed and similar breeds (pits, Am. Bulldogs) and the undeserved reputation that some of these breeds have gotten because of stupid and abusive owners. My girls sound big and bad, and they will eventually have the muscular build of a full grown boxer, but the worst thing they would do to anyone was slobber them to death or kidney bean into them.
