CHESTER

Boxer Pal
Hi, I read this board all the time but never really post until now. My boxer, Chester, is acting like a puppy again. He is 7 yrs old and recently has started to have accidents all over my rug. He has 4 different spots he always go to. He gets let out first thing in the morning at 6:30 and the door is left open for him all day long, then I take him out again right before bed usually around 11:30 pm or so. He doesnt sleep in a cage or anything, he sleeps with me in my room. So he is having his accidents in the middle of the night( i cant leave the door open all night for fear of animals coming in)
Is there anything I can do for him? My dog is my life and I know he is getting older but I just cant see him act this way. Its not normal, he is a very very good dog when it comes to me.
He's not a people person but loves my family!
Any help would be great and this site is really really good.

I had a cat that had started doing that for no apparent reason.
After a visit to the vet, we discovered she had a bladder infection.
The vet said she probably couldn't tell she had to go until it happened.
After about a week or so on an antibiotic, she was back to normal.

Good Luck

well he is going to the Vet today at 6:00pm. So hopefully the Vet can answer the problem.
Also, he is not a good dog when it comes to Vets so the Vet said to give him Childrens Benydrl. Anyone ever do this? And if so does it work? i hope it does, cause he is a mess when it comes to the Vet

I give Oscar benedryl for small allergic reactions and it works really well. I wouldn't know why your vet said to give benedryl to him before an appointment, to make him tired maybe.
Good luck at the vet's office.
