he LOVES lemons! Which really is a sight to see! He looks at me with that bitter face (yup, the same one that people get!)...but just keeps coming back for more!

Add Willis to that weirdo list... he has been counter surfing in search of lemons and limes.. he even missed a piece of chicken totally within reach (bad mummy!) in favour of grabbing 1/2 a lime the other day. He also loves bananas... no one is allowed to eat a banana all by themselves. And cantaloupe. I had to chase him around the kitchen table for 40 minutes one day trying to get the cantaloupe rinds from him.

Rocky is a total banana lover! He also loves apples, cantalopes, watermelon and strawberries that are really ripe. I have never tries lemon, but i know he will lick a lime to pieces, but not eat it. He will also eat pickles and gerkins.

Mia the boston only eats bananas sometimes and melon with salt!

Funny that this was posted since I was going to ask a fruit question! A strange thing happened while I was at the open air Italian Market this afternoon with Cookie. She regularly shops with me there as most of the venders are doggy friendly and she can clear a path when it gets too crowded like today!

I was getting my veggies and stuff for the big meal and the vender had crates of friuts and veggies all along the sidewalk, well within Cookie's reach. Now this is not normaly a problem as she prefers to people watch then bother with the icky green stuff :rolleyes: But today they had something different that got her noses attention... As I was distracted Cookie was standing on a loose lead with her head buried in a box of clementines! She was about to take her pick when a woman beside me said "So your dog likes clementines" and I looked and my jaw about dropped to the ground! :eek: Cookie quickly pulled her head out of the box and put on the innocent face "what I didn't do nothin!" Thankfully she did not slime them or even actually touch them so I didn't have to buy the crate, but for a moment I had visions of trying to explain to Joe and my daughter why the stuffing and side dishes were all clementines!

So who can tell me, is it ok to let Santa stuff her stocking with a few clementines?

It's good to see others have four-footed lemon lovers too. I've watched Cinda pick them off the tree and peel them before eating them. We've always used them instead of tennis balls to play with and it developed from there. She eats most kinds of fruit, especially bananas and apples and strawberries are hers only if they're too squishy for us. Didn't know grapes were toxic for Boxers as Cini will have a few now and then. Love oranges and kiwifruit. She's also pinched nectarines off the tree, but won't eat the plums unless cut up. I honestly thought she was a little soft in the head for eating all this stuff, but now I see it's pretty normal.

Well I am glad to see Titus isn't the only one. Last night I gave him half a banana and I guess he is watching when I cut it up b/c after he ate it, he went by the counter and barked until I had to tell him ENOUGH! Then he looked at me like, "but hey, their are more banana's up there!"

Ping loves fruit. He also loves pickles. :D

I thought I was the only one with a freaky boxer who likes pickles. I don't know if they like fruit as I have not offered them any. I know they love peanut butter toast, cheese, yogurt and bacon. Recently found out that they love pizza (got some at a freinds) We feed them all this stuff and then complain about the boxer gas LOL

Diabla loves apples but... she like them whole, so that she can play. She is so cute walking around with her apple in her mouth. She like all fruits. peaches, cherries, bananas. the only fruit or vegatables she does not like is pineapple and lettuce.

I have a great memory about Oliver eating pears. Before my dad passed away he was very sick. I used to go and visit every weekend and bring Oliver with me. My dad LOVED pears and would eat them all the time. Well, dad would be eating pears and there Oliver would be begging to the very best of his ability. (He was a puppy then) Well, dad kept telling him, "You won't eat this!" Finally dad gave in. He cut a slice off of the pear and was getting ready to feed it to Oliver when Oliver stood on his hind legs and grabbed the rest of the pear off of the kitchen table and took off to the other side of the kitchen. Sure enough, he ate that pear right off of the core just like a person. It had been a very long time since I heard dad laugh, but he sure got a kick out of Oliver stealing his pear. After that, when dad knew I would be there he always had extra pears for Oliver. Rachel

bailey LOVES apples!! i buy the tiny ones meant for kiddies lunchboxes, and just core them (i think the pips are dangerous) and give it too him right like that. he plays with it foe a few mins and then boom! its gone. i have to keep them in the fridge as he has access to the kitchen, and has been known to make several attempts to empty the fruit bowl! he also gets various fruit purees frozen in his kong which is like the best treat in the world for him!!!
i thought it would maybe give him the runs when i first started him on fruit as we have had a few probs with runny stools but it actually seems to have the opposiate effect in moderation!
