He called my boxer stupid!!!

Ok so my best friend and her husband came over last night and all was going well until we started talking about my Sabrina(9 months old). I mentioned that I thought about breeding her but decided against . So I got her spayed a week ago. He then looks at me and says "so you already got her fixed?" I say yes and then he says in all seriousness "That was a big mistake cuz your dog will now be the most stupidist dog because you didnt let her have her first liter before having her fixed":mad: My jaw hit the floor!!! I was shocked. I mentioned that I found out she was in heat when I had her fixed(I didnt know that the vet told me when I picked her up). He then says "well thats ok then if she was in heat cuz she knows what it feels like now.":confused: He tells me its a proven fact that if a dog gets spayed before her first litter they get stupid. I then said "who proved that? The national Institute of Idiots?" and let me tell you that didnt go over real well. So I told him until he gets educated about boxers or any breed for that matter I dont want to talk to him about it.
Now maybe I overreacted but I was offended by it. Oh well I guess. Well thanks for letting me vent and sorry its so long.

So it sounds like this guy was neutered before he had his first "litter". Some people just shouldnt say anything about dogs, they just make them selfs look like idiots. You reacted better then I would have. I would have made him leave but not before apologizing to my baby.

I hear ya! People are just so uneducated that it drives me crazy!!! We all know that our boxers are pretty smart critters. They figure out things many other doggies couldnt. It wouldnt matter if they were fixed early on in life or not!! I agree that if you aren't going to breed- get them fixed. Outside of the obvious health benefits- its just responsible pet ownership!

This just had me cracking up. I know that not everyone knows much about dogs, and I can accept that. But it really is annoying when people who don't know what they are talking about act like they are experts. I'm glad that you stood up for yourself and didn't start doubting your decision. In this case, your friend really doesn't know what he is talking about and you absolutely made a good decision by having your girl spayed!

Too funny! The guy is an obvious moron. I love how everyone else seems to know what is best for everyone else...People tell me all the time I'm an idiot since I could have made a ton of $$$ from Mason. I did what is best for my situation and I really don't think it is right for people to criticize...but hey what do I know? LOL!
