Just thought I'd come here for some support. My beutiful boy, the one that gives my life joy and purpose, decided to eat(!) one of the window frames of my rented flat. And just 2 weeks before we're moving out to our first own home.

To make the matters worse, the flat is part of an old house in a conservatory area, which means that no modifications are allowed to any of the original features, i.e. no new window. I suppose it's a job for a tube of Polyfill again. God knows we've gone through a few of those already. If I'm lucky my landlord might not open the curtains when inspecting the flat..

Why do they do this to us? And why do we insist in loving them so much inspite of all the things they get us into.

Jade hasn't ate any of the furniture yet (knock on wood) but when my family and I were in Germany on vacation, my malamute Sadie, ate the leg off the kitchen table. My boyfriend at the time was living there to take care of them while we were gone, and he was so scared to tell my mom what the dog had done while he was at hockey practice. LOL. My mom thought it was kind of funny and has sanded down the rough edges and restained it so she can keep it forever as a tribute to her. (Sadie passed away at the age of 4 to aggressive bone cancer)

Max has eaten the wall in our old place, the leather strips off the underneath of an area rug, some cushions and a coffee table.

My parents used to live in TX and they had this mutt they adopted from shelter that ate EVERYTHING, his dog dishes (til they got smart and got metal dishes), electrical wires, furniture. My favorite....when they were trying to sell the house, he ate through ALL the trees in the backyard. I'm not sure what kind of trees they were but they didn't have a thick diameter at all.

Jake also nibbled on the wood window sill, just once and never did it again. But his nibble removed quite a few chuncks of wood.........wood putty to the rescue!

Parka--your boy is adorable!

Tae has a thing for window sills. I think it's a boredom thing. In my townhouse, she chewed two in the kitchen. I had one replaced before renting it and the other I managed to glue together and wood putty, then paint.

In my new house, she chewed a window sill and part of the staircase. This all occurred in the first couple weeks we lived there. I recently got the wood putty out, but yesterday I caught her tasting the corner on the staircase where I had puttied. I keep a bottle of bitter apple right next to it and promptly sprayed the corner!!!!
