He ate his halter!!

Quincy has felt the call of the wild to fulfill his dream of becoming a lead sled dog. So I decided to get a halter for him , the guaranteed not to pull one. Holt, I believe, is the manufacturer. I stopped by my local animal supply to purchase one on my way home. We tried it on at home and it fit perfectly. I left it on him for a while so he could get used to the feel. After a little rubbing he sighed and climbed up on the couch next to me to chew on a pork roll. I was reading and he was chewing and I thought nothing of it....That is until I stood up and he jumped off the couch with the halter around his stomach!! He had chewed through the neck straps!!!!!

I guess I'll stop by the animal supply once again.....

I can't stop laughing. My co-workers think I've gone nutso!! LOL. That is too funny to me. Goes to show that you've got to watch your little ones even when they're sitting RIGHT NEXT to you.

I am sorry but its funny! I had a St Bernard, had a beautiful leather harness made for him, put it on him for him to get used to it and he somehow reached down and put his bottom jaw under the strap and chewed it in half. Its not their fault! We both did what we thought shud be done! they are just a little smarter than us!!!!

Thats sooo funny, I just went through the same thing with a harness I'd bought from wal-mart. I bought an inexpensive one to make sure he would be ok with a harness. He didnt seem to mind to much, He had it on for about 30 min before he'd chewed through one of the leg straps. I think he thought it was a new type of chew toy that would go wherever he went. LOL:p

To be correct, I should have said harness instead of halter. Or I could have said body halter...either way, Quincy ate a harness.

Caution- those "no slips" can be slipped out of! We tied Juniors leash to the porch for a few minutes while we went back inside the house... zip- he was out of it a few minutes flat! we still can't believe it!

Oscar hated his harness when we got him one, we put it on and he wouldn't move literally he just stuck to the spot. He looked so sad :(

Anyway we persevered and so he learned the 'I can wiggle myself out of this one' trick and mastered it to a tee. Therefore we can't put it on him anymore as he remembers his little trick everytime, we try it out every so often to see if he has forgotten !!

I must admit though he hasn't attempted to eat it yet - but you never know :D
