My poor baby Tyson was just hospitalized. He was vomiting and some of the vomit has blood. He was also pooping liquid. The vet said that he was in shock but couldn't explain what was happening. Said it could be HCG? Anyone heard of that before? Vet said that had I brought him in later he would have died. I'm worried- They have him hooked up to an IV and he can't even move : (

How awful! I am sorry I am not familiar with HCG-what does that stand for? I will say a prayer for you and your boy-please let us know how it goes.

I've never heard of HCG and when I searched for info about it on the net it threw up some weird things. Some mention pregnancy and the likes??

Let us know when you find out what it is/means and I hope Tyson is well on the way to a full recovery. Looks like whatever it is you caught it in time.

I'm wondering if it HGE? That is hemhorrhagic gastroenteritis and it's characterized by blood in the vomit, but more often in the stool. This is gross, but the blood in the stool is often described as having a strawberry jam-like appearance. Anyway, one of my pugs had it. It can be very dangerous and life-threatening if untreated. The dog can basically bleed to death -- veins collapse, etc. However, with treatment most dogs are just fine. My dog was admitted to the vet for 2 days for IV fluids and IV antibiotics. She has been fine since and that was about 2 years ago. I always carefully examine her poo -- I'm the poo police as my husband says -- because I'm always so afraid of it happening again.

Hope your dog is o.k. Sounds like you're doing the right thing and she should be fine. I know that it's scary though to see all of that red blood!! Good luck.
