Have you ever lost your boxer in your own home?

I can't believe I can say this..... but...... yes, I've lost Jillybean!

She crawls under the bed - for fun, so one day when she was nowhere to be found, I went around looking under all the beds, calling her and when she wasn't there I was really perplexed! The last room I checked was the guest bathroom. There she was, just sitting in the tub, with her head tilted probably wondering what all the commotion was about.

She is a very silly Jillybean.

She's also been in the sink. I saw her then! I came in the front door from a walk with one of the other furkids and there through the house I see her, standing in the sink looking at me. I took a big gasp of shock and she just jumped out and acted like nothing was happening.

I live in a 2bd apartment, so i dont loose katie inside, but i have left the porch light on (turn it on ONLY when she is outside) and then freaked out because she wouldnt come when i called and called,.,...went and put slippers on to walk around to back yard and couldnt find her....started to panic....went back to patio,.....and there she was standing at the door on the INSIDE looking at me like i am an idiot. Guess i was. Scared me to death though! She got lots of loving that night!

I've done this too and go into full panic mode - I'm usually a very laid back person until it comes to Boxers who go AWOL :rolleyes:

We have accidently locked Layla in the garage. It is set apart from the house and the dogs always follow us when we go down to lock it up. On the occassion when we accidently closed Layla in we realised pretty well straight away she was missing, and walked around and around calling her for a very long time (I was in tears after a short while) - I went into the garage to get the car and go for a drive to see if I could find her, and this little brindle and white missile laucned herself at me when I opened the door! Silly girl, you would think she would have made some type of sound - instead she must have been sitting at the door wondering when the stupid humans would let her out.

We always do a head count now - the dogs think their names are: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 :D

It could be worse, we have friends who drove away from dog training school and left thier dog behind ....

Now I have been rushing off to classes and halfway on the 40 minute drive had to look back and make sure I had the correct boxer - BUT LEAVING ONE BEHIND - now that's funny!!!!
Can you imagine when she went back?!!!

Everyones posts are hilarious!! I too have lost my 3 month old bentley!! I go running around the house calling and calling his name... and looking in every room... I found him once upstairs in my roommates closet under the clothes!! I have also accidentally locked him in the bathroom... I try to keep the door closed when he is out so temptation doesnt exist (think garbage, tp etc) and when I shut the door he was already inside!! hahahaha gotta love them!! Definitely smart enough to cause us extreme anxiety!!

I lost Rocky just last week. Both my pups love to get into the shower to lick all the water on the glass (one of those glass door showers,no tub, just a tile floor). Well I finished drying my hair and when I went to call the dogs to load them in the car to go to grandma's house only Mia answered. I am now yelling for Rocky and still no answer. I zoomed around and ran into the bathroom, as I was running out I see eyes peeking at me from inside my shower and there he was looking very goofy & wet! The door had shut on him...or maybe Mia shut him inside in hopes we would leave him behind...we may never know!

I've totally lost Gnarly in the house before. When we go out we normally close the bedroom door so Gnarly wont go in and sleep on the bed. So on coming home from work I walk in the front door and call out to Gnarly, thinking it's quite odd that he's not at the door waiting for me. I thought to myself that he must be outside, so I checked on him and couldn't find him anywhere. I'm running around the house calling out to him..... when finally I hear a tap on the bedroom door! He'd pushed the door open to get into the bed and then the door had blown shut because the window was open. Little bugger..... bad thing was he was busting to go to the toilet because he'd been in there all day. Opps.... we make sure we close the door properly now.

this is funny knowing im not the only one who lost their dog inside ... well it was garbage/recycleble collection day... after they pick up my garbage and recycleble material i decided to hose it off then tip it upside down to dry the inside of the bin... i took a shower after that and left nitro in the backyard since he's still playing... when i went back out my backyard nitro was nowhere to be found... knowing he can't get inside the house the first thing that came to my mind was he managed to get outside so i panicked and drove around the block looking for him... i even called my dad who lived few blocks away and asked him if he picked up nitro while i was taking a shower... me and my dad ended up driving around the block for almost 2 hours looking for him... i was about to call animal shelter when i saw my recycle bin walking by itself ... the little devil was inside and didn't even made any sound ...
