my husband and i do not have any skin kids yet so i am always a little worried when people come over with small children. well this weekend we had some friends from memphis come visit with their HUGE 2 yr old boy - daddy is 6'7'' and very big and mom is average size for a woman but the little boy got his daddy's gene anyways. buttercup (our 2 yr old) was so great with him - she followed him around and they played and the little boy loves to wrestle and so does buttercup - but she wrestled with him differently then she does us - she was a lot more gentle and she never hurt him and she only knocked him down once and that wasn't even her fault, he ran into her and just fell backwards =D =D but buttercup turned and gave him lots of kisses to make sure he was okay. when they left sunday afternoon buttercup layed at the back door missing her friend :( it was so sweet and sad!

I remember the first time Daisy encountered SMALL children...

Me and Daisy we're at the park throwing the frizbee when two SMALL kids arrived, probably 6 - 8 years old, ( Daisy would have been about 6 months at this time ).

I let the kids throw the frizbee while I kept a nervous eye on my Daisy. ( Daisy sometimes gets excited and jumps on me while we play ). Well, Daisy was amazing!!! She sat patiently while the kids clumsily juggled than threw the frizbee. Daisy retrieve the frizbee for them and again sat patiently allowing the kids to loft it again.

I had heard how good boxers were with children but nevertheless I was stunned at how calm she was. Of course I have had numerous, similar situations since but those are other stories.

Boxers are truly the most amazing animal on the planet!

Abby was never taught about children, but the very first time and ever since, she will sit down and scoot towards the child so she doesn't knock it over. It is like she KNOWS!!!

Markus met a couple of young boys, 3-4 years old at the park the other day. They were a little nervous and instead of being at the head end, they were at his tail and were waging it for him. It was just so cute. Boxers are the best.
