have any of you ever gotten or been around Schutzhund boxers bloodlines?

(this is about kadie not rocky)
just curious. i don't know why but im always look around at other dogs and things like that, i love my boxers to death but the only thing i wish was Kadie would at least bark at the door once inawhile or let me know when someone is around the house. again i don't want a protection dog im just wondering out of curiousity, its going to be a long time until i get another dog and im 99.9 percent sure it will be a boxer.

anyways i was talking with some friends and also on another forum and got the same responce that i love my boxer but just wish they were a little more protective around the house. and said mabye my next dog i might look into dobermans. well they told me (friend and forum) said just get a boxer from Schutzhund bloodlines. so i was just curiuos if they were much diffent then just a normal boxer?

again i got kadie at a repetuable breeder, kadies a great dog shes awsome, but someone can be banging on the windows or walking around the house and she will just wiggle hoping they can get in so she can play LOL

I don't think my Loki is from any particular schutzhund bloodlines, but he definitely lets us know when there is someone around. Last night a guy was on our porch soliciting and before he even knocked we knew he was there. I love Loki for this, especially if the dh is not around, but at times it can be a bit much.

Rookie and Brutus are both very protective but that characteristic did not show up until they were around 2 yrs old. Brutus is more of a barker when strangers come onto our property while Rookie tends to find me and protect me. Gypsy who is 10 months is just friendly and playful all the time.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought schutzhund was training for protection, not a bloodline. There are people in the US who also train Schutzhund.

If I'm off base, someone feel free to correct me but I never heard of it being an actual bloodline.

Wanna trade? Bayleigh is very protective of her house and yard. She sounds like she is going to eat whoever knocks at the door. Once they are in, she is all licks and wiggles.

Sometimes I wish that she wasn't so protective. Although it does come in handy at times! She won't bite, but they don't know that!

presley im not sure if schutzhund is a bloodline or not i guess if they have a german bloodline and are trained in schutzhund then that would be close

Schutzhund is a dog sport that was developed in Germany in the early 1900s to test the breed-worthiness of German Shepherd Dogs (GSD). An experienced person can look at a dog and determine whether it looks and moves like a GSD. Schutzhund is designed to look into the heart and mind of a dog and see whether it acts like a GSD. Schutzhund is a demanding test of the dog and few dogs that have not been bred for it can pass a schutzhund test.
Schutzhund (German for "protection dog") tests dogs of all breeds for the traits necessary for police-type work. Dogs that pass Schutzhund tests should be suitable for a wide variety of tasks: police work, specific odor detection, search and rescue, and many others. The purpose of Schutzhund is to identify dogs that have or do not have the character traits required for these demanding jobs. Some of those traits are

* Strong desire to work
* Courage
* Intelligence
* Trainability
* Strong bond to the handler
* Perseverance

Schutzhund training tests these traits. It also tests physical traits such as strength, endurance, agility, and scenting ability. The goal of Schutzhund is to illuminate the character of a dog through training. Breeders can use this insight to determine how and whether to use the dog in producing the next generation of working dogs.

Hey, if you just want a dog that barks, take any of my 3. They go off at the drop of a hat. Nobody is getting anywhere near my house without the herd letting us know.

I honestly believe that since Baron was small and spent a lot of time around a collie, it taught him to bark. Now it has a trickle down effect on the other two and they go nuts now.

Fletcher is unbelievably protective of his house and people. Especially me and the kids. No way anyone is getting near our house without us knowing it.

Both mine are from what you would say a BYB, and Noah is on protect mode 24/7, whereas Ashley is more selective. If someone were to show up at the door at say, midnight, she would go nuts. She is also known to get me up in the middle of the night to go patrol the back yard. But it did take them a couple of years to grow into a protective role...
