Have a chance to adopt a greyhound playmate for Max

Should I get a male or female, he is a wonderful boy, never has shown aggression to anything, want to help out and have always wanted a greyhound, hopefully they are as great as a boxer. I am semi-retired so the most that I will be gone is 4 to 6 hours a day and Max is a dream, has been since he was with us at 7 months old. Any ideas.

I personally would get a female because I heard about same sex getting aggressive as they get older, but there are many members here that has same sex furbabies with no problems. Best of luck.

I lived in a household that was thinking about adopting a greyhound. We all talked about together because it would impact all of us. They are great social dogs that do well in crates, but are very similar to boxer they don't like being alone. I think that you made a great choice. I would get a female if you have a male.

I don't know a ton about Greyhounds but my neighbor has one that I've known for years and have taken care of on several occasions and they are very easy dogs to have but I'm just wondering if a boxer would be too much for a Greyhound. They tire fast, usually they have a energy surge and burn around for a bit and then it's time to go back to bed, they spend most of the day sleeping everyday (they're kinda like cats) not like a lot of boxers that could go all day. My neighbors is 10 years old so that might explain why he doesn't care for my energy bound boxer but from what I understand is that they don't really even know how to play so they might get nervous around a boxer. They also adopted a retired racer so maybe that's different from getting a home raised one too, I don't know I just wanted to share what I have witnessed with my neighbors and the info she's told me about them.
