I couldn't give you any better advice than what you have been getting, and glad to hear you have a handle on things. To help find urine stains on carpet- try a black light.

Thanks!

Well i went through and read all of the posts here and in other threads. I used someones idea about putting empty cans on the counter to scare a dog from getting on counters and i applied it to my problem. I rigged a set of cans to my pantry and if she opens it the cans fall and make alot of noise. She tried to get in the pantry once and the racket scared her enough not to try it again.
As for the stealing food from my kids that issue is solved by her going outside until the meal is done. The potty problem is getting better. I am still shampooing my carpet daily but at least she has picked one spot to do it in now.
I went to the store and bought sevral small bags of dog food and put them into seperate bowls and let her pick which one she wanted to eat and bought her some special treats. I hope it works.
I am also spending some special time with just Layla. No kids no pups no hubby. Just me and her. She is really enjoying that. I have also started sleeping with my bedroom door open all the way and I find her laying on the floor next to me more often now and I am waking up to less mess so maybe she was just lonely at night?!

I just wanted to say thenks to all of you for the great advice and listening to me. This is a really wonderful community and I am glad to be a part of it!

Glad to hear that Layla is doing so well, good work to all of you. Be sure to give Layla extra hugs for all her good work as well!!!!!!!!!

I just caught this thread, and I'm glad things are going better. It sounds to me like her regression was party just because she was scared. Was this her first litter of puppies? Just think about it from her point of view - until she came to live with you, she only knew abuse and neglect. Now she is with a family that loves her. And all of a sudden, she has babies! That's definitely something to freak out about! And, I'm sure the visit from her previous owner didn't help. Even if she didn't remember specifics, I'm sure she still associates him with "bad". I'm sure she'll continue to improve. You are a good person for spending so much time with her and adopting a "difficult" boxer. Your hard work will pay off, it sounds like she's starting to become a great dog.
