Hi there

I purchased Kailee a coat from and equine shop. They made it to fit her measurments and it fits perfectly.

I just happened to notice though that this year Boxer Rescue Ontario has coats that fit boxers for sale in the BRO Shop. They have a hood, which is detachable, fully lined and water repellent. They sell for 35.00 Canadian with a total of 50.00 Canadian after taxes. (May be a not bad price for US people, given the exchange) and the money goes to a great cause. ;)

Go to Boxer Rescue Ontario scroll down to BRO shop and click. They are featured first. I am not sure if they ship to the US but you could click on contact and ask, or I can find out for you.
Definatly getting one for my Clyde.

where did you find a pattern for making your own? I'd love to make one for Magoo.

I have used the Butterick Pattern 4226. it has the larger size and i custom fit the velcro for the straps, I also made the straps for under the body a little wider so that it covered more of her, :D

Here`s a suggestion, I was in our local goodwill the other day and picked up 2 fleece pullovers for Max and Abby, they have the elastic drawstring at the waist to fit them around the middle, and with a couple of turns of the cuffs they are just perfect in the length.
I was very excited by the selection I found. Max has a bright gold Old navy one ( to match mine of course)and Abby has a lavendar one with Disney characters. I was so proud of myself for this find I went back today hoping to find a couple more but nothing caught my eye. You may want to give this a try just for the fun of it, for 2.69 you cant go wrong.
Happy hunting !

Well I've been looking for a nice winter coat for Keno for awhile now and I think I've found one at Petedge, but I have really no idea what size to get and I can't seem to find a size chart on thier website at all...We measured Keno and he is about 21" from the back of his neck to his rear and his chest is about 27" deep...I'm afraid if I order the 21" coat(Xlarge) it might not be big enough to fit him in the chest, but the biggest they have is an Xlarge...
Can someone help me figure out what size *might* work for him?! :)

Thanks!!

I had a really hard time with Mugsy too. The coats fit him in length, but not in girth. His chest is even too big for the largest size! When we bought his life jacket this summer, we had to get an xtra large just to get it zipped around his chest! I have such a manly boy!

I bought him a coat at ruffwear.com - the k9 overcoat II. I measured him and even e-mailed the company asking their advice about the sizing. They said that Mugsy should fit into a medium, but I ordered a large anyways - I'm even hoping that fits. My concern is that his chest is really bigger than other breeds his age and size.

I won't know if it fits until next week, but I'll let you know when I get it.

Good luck!

hoodies...

i went to walmart the other day and bought two hoodies in medium from the little boy section. one says "all star", and the other says "snow boarder", lol. i'm going take up the hem on the belly (so that he doesn't pee on it) and put in velcro straps around the tummy to keep it closed and warm. it is just big enough around the back, but in the front across the chest there is a little extra material, so i'm just going to take out the seam and remove some of the extra fabric. when i get pics i'll put them in my gallery, they are tank's christmas present from santa, for being a good boy! lol. anyway thought i would mention it since it's not a lot of work, and probably a lot cheaper then buying doggie hoodie after doggie hoodie, to find one that fits. i paid 9.99 for one sweater, and 19.99 for the other.

That sounds like a great idea...unfortunatly I am not a seamstress! I once tried sewing my husbands pajama pants and ended up sewing his pocket shut...hahahaha!! But my sister, who lives in FL, could probably do it for me if I gave her the measurements, so I might give that a try!
Thanks for the idea! Can't wait to see Tank in the ones you got him ;)

LOL... you stitched up his pocket! hah! totally sounds like something i would do. i'm not much of a seamstress either, i make my own halloween costumes usually by re-making something that's really big. all i do is sew in a seam, try it on, sew it in a little more, try it on... etc etc. let's just say that when i do this with tank he's not too impressed! it's like a dress rehearsal for him, lol. on with the hoodie, off with the hoodie... ;)
