Undressed no, but dressed yes, Prancer will put her paw out to get into her hoodies. She is always cold, so she wears them all the time. See some pic's in my gallery! I also noticed we have better luck with hoodies that zip up the front. We get hers at Old Navy in the kids department.

PrancersMom - Prancer is sooo cute in her hoodie! The Old Navy sweatshirt is a great idea. I'll have to try one, what size do you get?

The hoodies from Drs Foster and Smith doesn't have any zippers or velcro, just goes right over the head. Owens pretty good with letting me put it on him and keeping it on.

Prancer Weights about 40 lbs, and a 5T fits really well, even in the arms. If you have a wide chested dog, go with a regular 5, they have more girth (sp? around size). Remember, you can always return it if it does not fit-if you can get all the little boxer hairs back off it.

Good Luck!

I was at our local Walmart yesterday and checked the pattern books. In the Simplicity book -crafts section- they have patterns for coats, sweaters, etc.I got pattern # 9520 for large dogs. This pattern gives 6 different options. Looks like I'll be brushing up on my sewing skills :) Now if I can just talk dh into the cute little sewing machine I saw............

I have had problems with finding things to fit Jade too, everything is just too tight in the chest to where she can't walk comfortably. Sweatshirts get tight across the arms and jackets with just velcro straps don't cross her chest enough, they either come undone or there too tight.

Well tonight I was at Petsmart and my daughter brought me this jacket that velcroed under the belly and across the chest, like other ones I've tried but don't work well, but she insisted that I try it on Jade (she loves to find things to put on the dogs) so to show her that they don't work I put it on and to my surprise it fit her perfect. I was amazed and even though I had no intention on buying another coat (cuz my hubbie thinks I'm nuts with all the clothes she has) I couldn't leave without it.

I wanted to let everyone know about it because I know it's not often that we find things to fit our boxers, so if you have a Petsmart maybe you can look for the same one. The brand is Companion Road, it's just for Petsmart stores. The tag calls it a 'Toggle coat', it's biege and looks like a suede leather with fur on the inside and around the collar. At my Petsmart it was $20 (not bad)

Yeah! I did do it right!

That is the one that I have!! Companion Road. It fit really well until Bella grew out of it. I few more weeks and it will probably fit baby boxer George!

Casey's mom

Last year I made Casey a bright orange fleece coat because we have a cottage in northern Michigan and a lot of people hunt for deer. I don't want her to get shoot. I didn't use a pattern I used Casey as the pattern. She love all the attention. I just put the fabric on her and cut it out around her body and as I sewed it we had fittings. You would think I was fitting her for a wedding dress. Then I knitted her a sweater, that didn't work out because when she ran, she would run right out of it. She loves to wear her coats, when we open the door she goes and gets her coat for me to put it on her. Silly girl. I'm going to check out the pattern for a new coat this year. She needs one back up north, look at my pictures and you can see how much snow we get.

peanut

Has anyone ever seen the website trixieandpeanut.com. The store was founded after a two rescue boxer !! I am pretty sure that it was Peanut but I am not too sure. Anyways, they have a section special for big dogs. Check it out ! This may help ....
This is a quote from the site ...

A mail order and online retailer, trixie + peanut celebrates the unique relationship between pets and the people who love them. Named after her two rescued boxers, Susan Bing founded trixie + peanut in 1999. As an animal lover, she understood that pet owners desired the very best for their four-legged friends.
