Boxer Pal
Hi, My boxer will be one next week and he’s still having problems w/housebreaking. He lets us know that he has to go (rings bell or stands in front of door), but if we don’t respond almost instantly he’ll have an accident in front of the door. He requests to go out at least every hour or two. We'll take him for long walks and he's well exercised. He’s crate trained and has never had an accident in the crate. At nite, he goes out at 9:00 pm and we have to wake him and practically drag him out of the crate at 7:00am. He doesn’t rush to the back door in the morning either, so I know he can hold it. On Monday, we accidentally left him out of the crate with access to the “magic water bowl” and went to work. When my kids returned 5 hours later, no accidents and he didn’t destroy anything. Two days later, we intentionally left him out and to our amazement no accidents. How can we get him hold it longer when we’re home.
