Last nite we had Ham, and I threw the cooked bones in the garbage. Well when we were watching TV I noticed Harlie wasnt by us, which she normally always is, well i found her sitting in her crate with one of the ham bones. It wasnt a really big one, and she didnt eat much off of it, just a little off the corners, but anyways I just took it away and took the trash outside so she couldnt get in it again. Well this morning at around 5 ish I got up, and I let her out and she has a little diarehha, its not bad, just softer than normal. And she puked a little bit. Is it going to kill her? After she puked she seemed fine all morning. She ate her regular breakfast, and drank water. And she played all morning. I left at 9. So she hadnt puked for 4 hours. Should I be more worried, should I leave work and take her to the ER vet, even though she seems ok? She really didnt eat that much, and Im glad we found it when we did.

I would not worry about it. My boxer, Sasha, always gets the ham bone(the little round one). She chews on it then plays with it and she is fine.;)

You should have nothing to worry about. Dogs eat bones all the time because their stomachs are able to digest them. Although cooked bones are not that good for dogs as they splinter easier than raw bones. Just keep an eye on her if you are that worried about it. Make sure that she continues to go to the bathroom, this way you can be sure that the bone didn't get lodged. Another good sign is that she ate this morning which dogs will stop doing if something is lodged in their intestines. Overall I would say she'll be just fine but keep an eye on her if you are worried about it.

Thanks!

Thanks sooooo much!! I was really freaking out and I kept thinking that I was a bad "mom" for going to work! I am going to go home at lunch just to make sure she is ok so far. I really dont think a peice could get stuck since she didnt eat any huge chunks, but I just hope the little peices she got off wont sliver her intestines or anything. Im praying she doenst get sick anymore from it. *crosses fingers*
