Happy Pees

So, Java is turning 8 months in a few weeks, and she still does happy pees when she meets people. I could just take her to the yard and she pees a river. We get in the house and someone comes home, and she happy pees when she sees them.

Anyone else have this problem?

A related problem: I take her to the yard for eliminating. When we go for walks, it's for walking, not eliminating. She almost always does a wet poop at some point on the walk. Usually the beginning, but not always.

Anyone have THIS problem, also?

I know they're not really something I can control, but just wondering what others do.

Thanks.

My boxer doesn't but my mini schnauzer used to. I would tell people to ignore her and not pet her to get her all excited. Then after she calmed down they could pet her. Eventually with maturity and confidence she outgrew the happy peeing. I think it has a lot to do with lack of confidence. Did you dog get a lot of people socializing at a young age?
As far as the pooping on walks, I'm assuming when you say wet you mean runny?? I would say again it's nerves making it runny. Plus they like to get their scent everywhere.
Hope this helps! ;)

They will usually grow out of the submissive peeing. Make sure when friends come to visit that they don't bend over her. They should crouch down to greet her.

Good luck!

I tried that, then they get a face full of tongue, which not everyone likes!

I definitely need to work with her more on greetings. She excites herself. Even if she sees a family member for the first time that day, she goes nuts and sometimes pees.

Sorry but I laughed at the face full of tongue reply !!!
She is still a baby and as said she should grow out of this ,I think its just a matter of trying to keep the excitement levels down ..

I had to laugh too. Some boxers just love to give kisses. Maybe if you had your guests sit down before allowing Java to say hello. It might help.

Java sleeps with me and that's how she wakes me...licks to the face! I usually let her get a few in then say, "Enough!". That's when I get the tongue in the mouth!

Yeah, I figured it was more a puppy/excitement thing. I'll give her time and try to get people to be less excited and give her no atention when they first see her.
