ok i think this maybe the best invention ever!!!

here is why, sorry its a little long.

since its getting darker out quicker and colder out niko's outside time gets cut a little short and i cant make it to the dog park right now.

well the DBF and i take him to petsmart the other night and niko goes nuts, pulling me through the store. now niko is 6 months old and probably rivals 50-60 lbs and i weight a mesly(SP?) 120. so this sight is pretty comical.

anyways i tell my DBF i cant do this something has to happen, he claims he will work with him. lol. anyways i need something now till he can behave properly. so get on here and do a search and come up with the halti leader. went and got one last night and put it on him..... he hated it at first till he realized he got to go for a walk with it on. well we walked pass a group of ppl with 3 dogs and it was like i wasnt even holding the leash.....OMG........it was great cause he wasnt pulling well not like when we went in to the store. it was the greatest feeling, and i know its just cause hes excited to see other ppl and dogs but..... he has to learn that he cant do that no matter how excited he is i dont want to run the risk of him pulling me down and him running off over a dog and losing him.....ya know!!!

so anyways if your having trouble with your baby pulling invest in this its great!!

I've been using a sporn harness, and although I am sure Wilson is MUCH easier to control than with the collar (maybe I should try walking him with his collar for a reminder), he still is a strong puller! So maybe I will take a look at the halti next time I'm at petsmart. The "no pulling" training is going very slow, but his weight/strength gain isn't!! :p

Krystal I hope we can meet up sometime in the near future, I would love to see Niko again, and I'm sure Wilson would, too!

I used to use a SPORN halter until Otis broke out of it pulling so hard on Halloween night while we were out trick or treating.

I had better control with the sporn but since he was able to break free from it, the clasp unclasped while he was pulling, I've been too afraid to use it.

I had great success with a halti with Brit our last boxer and I have a strong feeling that I will need to use one on Chance when she grows up a bit. She is only 10 1/2 weeks old. She hates her collar and walking on the leash. She does know when we are heading home tho and walks like a perfect lady.

We are considering renaming her TUG. LOL.
