My 10 mo. old bindle girl has a rash or scrape on her chest that has lasted a week or so. I have also noticed a little hair loss (not much at all) in the areas that is have the rash. I haven't seen her scratching or messing with the infected area so I don't think it is bothering her. She also allows me to touch and inspect it at my will. She is recently had a boost in energy, become very hyper and is constantly tripping on things and banging her self up so I am wondering if I should be concerned or if it's just her being the wild pup that she is. Help!

If you are not already doing it, incorporate some canned food into her diet. I had a problem with my Beau having dry skin, and scratching off paches of hair. My vet told me he needed more oils in his diet, but not to use just an egg in his dry food. In about two weeks the patches went away along with the costant scratching.

I also had a friend who spent several thousand dolars trying to get a dry skin area where no hair would grow on his dog pretty much from under his snout to where his chest goes to his undercarriage. After many years of all kinds of drugs and vet visits, he finally tried my solution, and in about a month the problem is almost completely corrected.

I feed my Beau whois about 68 lbs and lives inside about 2 cups of dry in temorning, and a 13 oz can in the evening along with his hip vitamins I give as a preventitive. I find this diet wrks well for him, he is pretty lean and fit for his frame. I don't want to over feed because of his somewhat low activity level living inside. Hope this helps.

Well as we all say Get her to the vet. She might have a allergy or some thing else. When you take her have them do a skin scrape. It wont hurt her its kinda like a rug burn. They will scrape it till a lil. blood come up. And then its all over. Barely any pain Their tuff dog anyways!!! Hope I helped some what!!
GOOD LUCK TO YOU & YOURS!!
