hacking white foamy stuff

My seven year old female hacks especially when its warm outside and after running around. Usually a small amount of white foam comes out and after a few times she stops. I was told this is normal for boxers. I was also told that this may be a sign of some type of heart problem. Does anyone have a suggestion or comment. Thanks in advance for any assistance

My katie foams at the mouth when she is hot, run a long time, or just wanting what i am eating. She sometimes coughs too and has had a clean bill of health as far as the heart goes. But, if you worried, you should take her to a vet. just in case.

Sounds to me like a touch of an upper respiratory infection since a white spit up is coming out. I also know that coughing when exercising can be linked to heart conditions but I don`t think the white spit up is there, just the cough.
