Hi everyone I haven't quite been on here in a while.
But My boxer Roxy is about to be 7 months on the 15th, and she makes hacking noises every once in a while but nothing comes out, I don't know if it's normal but she seems to be acting like her normal silly self. :P

Sounds like kennel cough. As long as she's acting normal no need to worry, it's a virus, will run it's course and go away on it's own in most cases.

Both of my boxers had kennel cough. They hacked up a white mucas about every 1/2 hr for 2 to 3 days.
If your boxer is hacking but not producing anything, then I'm not sure it would be kennel cough. Possibly but I would keep an eye on her. If it does not resolve itself in a few days, you might want to take her in to the vet.

My own dog has had it 3 times, only 1 of the 3 did he ever hack up anything. And I've had 1 foster with it and 2 pet sitting dog with it, none of them ever actually hacked up anything. In my 6 experiences with KC it's always been a non productive hacking/honking for weeks (ours has lasted 3-4 weeks with all of our bouts here), minus the one time that he was hacking up white foam for 3 weeks.

Well we also have a dachshund if it was Kennel Cough wouldnt it pass on to my Dachshund Maddie?
Hmmm.
By the way my Roxy just got mischievous and I found half ate bar of dial soap on the bathroom floor. Haha.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the info.

Nope not necessarily. I've had 6 cases of kennel cough in my home and my older Boxer has never gotten it. Like any virus some dogs have immunity to it and some don't, some will get sick some won't. Same as if you were in a room with someone who has the flu, you may get it you may not, just depends on your immunity. So no if your Maddie is immune then she wouldn't get it. My older Boxer would lick my younger boxers snot off his face and clean him and ingest the green stuff coming from his nose and eyes and she never got sick any of the 6 times.

Hmmmm.
Well I also have a question about her turning 7 months today when should the cycle start and how do you know its already in effect?

I don't want to scare you, but hacking/coughing can be a sign of heart problems. I doubt this is the case with your pup since she's so young, but keep a close eye on her. Early detection is key with heart issues. Again, I'm not trying to frighten you, but the more you know, the better off your dog will be.

This is different for all dogs. Some are as young as 6 months I've heard of some being as old as 18. Typically the blood is a good sign, but if you do a Google search I'm sure there are others, or I'd recommend speaking with your vet. I've always had my female dogs spayed so have never personally dealt with any heat cycles.
