Tears for you and your baby are in my eyes right now as I type. We are so very very sorry for your news, and send lots of hugs and prayers and puppy kisses to you and Gus.....follow your heart...it sounds like you know what to do...just treat him as you would want yourself treated and love him with all your heart. The wonderful and magical thing about boxers is they take up residence in your heart and will always be a part of you.....I have no good advice for you, just lots of heartfelt sympathy. You sound like a wonderful and loving boxer parent and you will make the right decisions for him....again, very very sorry for your news...

Hug, prayers, and puppy kisses,
"Momma Dog" Titan and Jasi

Thanks for all the love and kind words of support everyone. Reading your posts makes me feel like I am not alone.

I feel Gus has a very short time left with us. I think his heart is getting weaker as he had another fainting episode in his sleep last night in his bed. I can tell because I had to clean up after him (he loses control of his bowels when it happens).

It is hard knowing his time is near. When I first found out in April how sick he was I thought he would be gone almost immediately, and as happy as I am he is still with us, each day has been hard for me wondering is today the day? I thought for sure it would be the cancer that got him, I didn't realize it would probably be his heart.

We didn't go to the vet for Elvis' check up last week, I will probably take them in this week if all goes well. Waiting and seeing. I hope when his time comes to go to the rainbow bridge he goes in peace.

Say a prayer for my angel.

Sheri

Saying lots of prayers and sending many good thoughts your way. You are going through the hardest of times, but you will find the strength because of how much you love Gus. He will know and appreciate all your love.

Hang in there Sweetie....these dogs love us and keep fighting as long as they can. Our Rocky was given 6 to 8 weeks with his cancer. We wondered each day if it would be our last and to our amazement and the vets he lived 13 months...we let him go in Feb. But I wouldn't trade that time for anything. He knew he was loved and we spoiled him more so than he already was. He was our baby so trust me I know what you are feeling. Someone on here told me that dogs unlike humans don't fear death and I had not really thought about it but it brought me much comfort. Love that boy and give him a big hug for me....you will be in our thoughts and prayers...stay strong for Gus...
