Hello both of my boxer boys get a gurgling noise in their stomach about once a month. They refuse to eat anything the day it happens and we have moved so I don't think it is something they are eating in the backyard. I have tried putting them on sensitive stomach food, but it didn't seem to help either. I took them to the vet and he have me a can of science diet wet food... seriously. Please let me know if you have any ideas of to why or what I can do to help my boys.

Johann gets this occasionally. It's usually when he skips his breakfast and his tummy is super empty.

I mix up something super yummy for him (usually peanut butter mixed with kibble or tuna) and get him to eat something. Once he has some food in his stomach, teh gurgling goes away and he seems to feel better.

When that happens to Betty, I know her tummy is not feeling well. I give her a Pepcid AC (regular strength) and by the next morning, she is fine. She will not eat either when her stomach "gurgles"...well..she will go out and "mow the lawn" eating grass, but that doesn't seem to help, in fact, I think it makes it worse. It usually stems from having her schedule upset or eating something she shouldn't.

When Dino's stomach is squeaking, etc. and he won't eat it means he's having a pancreatitis flareup. Something for you to look into.

You can try no fat plain yogurt and see if that helps calm their stomach. If not a medicine like famotidine or Omeprazole 20mg can work also. If it is a continuous thing it may be good to have a vet check for Pancreatitis or Colitis.
