Riker has always had a passion for cyclists. I have always dealt with this by being extremely vigilant. Anytime I see a cyclist, I get his attention and make him sit and "watch me" until it passes (using a hot dog to help of course!)
However, in the last couple of days this hasn't been working. Usually by the time the cyclists are 100 yards away, I can let go of his collar and he's fine. But yesterday the cyclists were long gone and he still took after them. He did it twice!
Usually if he goes after a cyclist (or anything for that matter), I make a lot of noise and run the other way screaming and clapping. He always comes back to me and gets a treat for doing so. But this time he didn't even look back!
I am worried that he is going to hurt someone or himself. I really can't meet his exercise needs on leash. He needs to run off leash to be a good boy. Any suggestions?
