Growths on paws?? nails?? help

Sherman is a rescue boxer that I got in January, he's about 1 year, 3 months. I noticed a month or so ago that he had a weird growth on the top of one front foot, almost like another nail was growing, but it was deformed looking. I then noticed this week that he had another on each back foot underneath between his pads. These weren't there before. It looks like another toe/nail or something is trying to grow. They are about 1/2" or a little longer. I plan on taking him to the vet this week, but was just wondering if anyone has experienced this. I don't want it to affect his walking. They don't seem to bother him, but it's freaking me out. I keep looking at them every few hours to try to figure out what they are. I've searched the internet for growths, cysts, etc. for dogs, but haven't found anything. HELP! Thanks!

Our girl Sasha has something similar, a cyst that has grown between her toes on one of her front paws. I have, like you, searched the internet trying to figure out what this is and have had no luck. We did have her at the vet last week to have this looked at and the vet did not appear that concerned, saying that it was simply a cyst, that it did not appear to be cancer and was not hurting or bothering her any. I had questioned the vet about removing the thing and having it tested, but the vet, due to the location, decided to leave it and watch both it and Sasha closely. The vet felt that with the cyst being between her toes, that if removed it would not heal properly or quickly due to lack of extra skin to pull together and close the cut. This would cause the dog undo pain and irritation according to the vet, for something that didn't look that bad (his opinion). He also elected to not drain it either. I wasn't to sure about his opinion and I'm still not that comfortable with it, however, this was about a week ago and Sasha has shown no problems with the foot or anything else for that matter. She is as active as ever. I am still watching both the foot and her like a hawk, but at this time there is no change. I still haven't found out what this thing is, but at least for our girl, the cyst doesn't appear to be harmfull.

Thanks for the reply. Sherman is going to the vet tomorrow. It's really weird how they just came up so quickly. I'll let you know!
