growth on leg, blood colored

Hi anyone have any experience with growths near elbow?
Lola, my 3.5 year old furbaby has had it for at most a month. Originally it was flat and round, it is now more of a mound, it has definitely grown. Took her to vet. He said it could disappear on it's own, & did provide options... I thought it best to remove since it's on her elbow and is going to get knocked up alot as she plays. .

Does anyone feel strongly that I should wait & see.. and not have her put under?

Roge had something like that removed fron beside his nose a few months ago and the results came back clear, they didnt know what it was .Its hard to say if Lolas is the same without seeing it tho . His was very smooth and about the size of an orange pip but it wasnt red all the time mostly it was just like a little mound under the skin. I had it removed because 1. The vet had on idea what it looked like. 2. I did not want to play a waiting game just incase it was something bad and the longer it was there the more harm it would do.

I don't have much experience with skin tumors, but it sounds like it might be a button tumor. If it is, it should start going away soon.

It could be a benign histiocytoma or cutaneous hemangioma. It could be something else. Without an aspirate or biopsy, you won't know. I sugget having it examined. With boxers' propensity towards malignancy, I would find out sooner rather than later.

The dog would not need anesthesia for a fine needle aspirate cytology; a light sedative may be needed for a punch biopsy. I would at this point choose one of these diagnostic methods (biopsies are always more diagnostic than cytologies).
