When do Boxers stop growing height wise and start filling out? I was told Boxer stop growing at 16 months and start filling in until they are 24 months old, is this true?

Also do they put on more weight once they start filling in?

I've been told that they grow "up" until around 12-14 months, then fill out until they are around 2 yrs old. Johann is still pretty thin, but our vet said that he's in great shape for his breed/age.

Your puppy is adorable!!! :)

Max is 14 months old now and is almost 80lbs. He is still narrow chested and has not gotten to be broad chested yet.

My Duke is the same way. He is almost 20 mos old. He is extremely tall for a Boxer - 28 inches! - but his chest still has not filled out really at all.

All my dogs have filled out around the age of two. Actually Arabella just turned two a month ago and is filling out now. My hubby even noticed that the other day. Thor was 73 lbs for the longest time and then all of a sudden not long after he turned two he filled right out and went up to 87 lbs. Star did the same thing. She was my first, I thought she was going to be a small boxer and then around the time she turned two she filled right out and gained 12 lbs! Since your boy is 80 lbs now he's going to be a big boy!

If I'm not mistaken, I believe boxers with European bloodlines are much bigger than American versions.

I think you probably are mistaken (though it seems to be a common myth in North America). Boxers in most parts of Europe are typically smaller (at least, less tall) than their North American counterparts.
