ground hogs

Thanks for all the good information on boxers swimming or not! I have a question about boxers and ground hogs or anyother varmint for that matter. I have a problem with ground hogs in my yard. The hole they have dug by my back fence looks like a deep shoot. Porter sits by it in hope the ground hog comes out. Porter is as fast as lightning and I am afraid what he will do if he catches the ground hog. I don't want the ground hog to bite him or cause him any harm. As of right now, I think the ground hog knows he is on Porter's turf but he is truly pushing the envelope! Anyone have similar problems with varmints??? Help!!!

ground hog dilemma

Removing the groundhog is impossible..I did invest in a $50 molechaser [a/k/a groundhogs]..moles and groundhogs burrow in tunnels and since my yard borders on a birm, I would think we are infringing on their turf. If I plug up the tunnel, they will just dig another and so on......I am just so concerned about harm to Porter.....has anyone had any experience, other than getting sprayed by a skunk, with groundhogs creating nuisances of themselves with your pets???

My aunt and uncle used to have a boxer that would kill groundhogs and leave them on the porch. Their boxer never came to any harm from it, but my aunt was a bit traumatized everytime she saw a dead animal on her porch!

Been There....

Donald....BTW..Rowdy is awesome....buried the $50 ultrasound device in my yard last summer to try to get rid of the groundhog....he was dancing on it the next morning....we've decided to fill the crater in my yard with cement...hopefully that will deter the varmints....with my trust Porter as guard, the ground hog may not have a chance to dig another hole! I'll keep you posted.....thanks for the response!
