HELP!

I read on the forums to try the "Zoom Groom" for brushing my baby, however, it does not work for us. When I brush Basil, some hair does go on the brush, but the brush seems to losen even more hairs and they form little hair balls that get all over me!!!

is this just because shes a puppy? or should I try something new? and what should I try?

For puppies I would try a grooming mit...outdoors,since puppy fur is fine and likes to "fly".The mit will also help calm the puppy as it will seem the same as petting.Good luck!

The Zoom Groom works great for Kaybie. But it doesn't work like a normal brush does. It pulls up the loose hairs. Very little actually sticks to the Zoom Groom, and then all I do is take my hand and wipe the hair down to her rear end with and it comes off in clumps. She loves getting brushed with it, it must feel like a massage. But don't expect it to work like a brush where the hair stays in it.

I hope no one thinks I am crazy but I brush Bradlee with a normal brush for short haired coats then I use a lint roller with the sticky paper. I go through probably three sheets and valia.

And Brads loves the lint remover... :)

I haven't tried a Zoom Groom. I have a mitt type brush though but it always gets hair all over me too. So I brush the boys in the back yard then let them run around losing the rest of the loose hairs, then bring them in for a bath. :)

I use the Zoom Groom on Nora and thought it wasn't so great at first, but then I tried using it against the grain (so to speak) of her coat. I brush that way for a bit, then take my hand and smooth her fur down the right way which gathers all the loose hair up and off of her. Much better! Good luck!

I would definitely recommend using the zoom groom outside!! :) I do as others have mentioned--I run it up and down her back a few times, then use my hand to push the hair off Ginny's back.

I also use a brush with coarse bristles (like boar's hair)--she really seems to enjoy how that feels. Again--only outside as we would have hair EVERYWHERE!!

Although I have a brush with bristles on one side and soft wire on the other, my best tool for brushing Cinda is a pair of rubber kitchen gloves. You've got to be careful not to pull their skin as the grip is quite strong, but after grooming (always outside) cinda just has to have those gloves to play with. Maybe because they're so bright yellow! Her fur may be short but it's very thick.

This is exactly how I use the Zoom Groom on Kaybie. It works wonderful this way.
