Boxer Pal
Hello everyone. I'm a 20-something apartment dweller that absolutely fell in love with the Boxer breed when I spent 3 days at a friend's house in MN. He had a 2yr old Boxer, Cody who was the coolest dog I've had the opportunity to meet. I learned my first Boxer lesson from Cody when he used my hat as a chewing toy! LoL

Fun, smart and beautiful I've decided that the Boxer breed is a match for me. :)

I look forward to owning one of these wonderful dogs in the future (1-2yrs), and I'm taking the time now to do extensive research.

Welcome! We are also in Portland.

I think you are going about this the best possible way, learning as much as you can before you get your boxer. This website is a gold mine of boxer info...I am often on it several times a day!

Welcome from Vancouver, WA . I don't think you'll wait 1-2 years. Read the "apartment living" threads. You'll be hooked sooner than you think.

Update!! Meet Chunk!!

Hey everybody! I've been pretty quite for some time now (about 1-2 years, siris'mom! ;) ). Silently viewing the forums and preparing to bring a puppy into our lives.

Since the OP, I've gotten married, fell in love with her [then] 1yr old Golden ("Gus") and purchased a house! A lot has happened, that's for sure. =)

The other day, we brought our new pup, "Chunk" home. He's a cute little brindle who just turned 8 weeks and is learning a lot about his new home and family. Him and Gus get along great, and we're really impressed with how quickly they were willing to socialize. There was a little sibling rivalry over a tennis ball (Gus loves 'em) and Gus chomped it right in half! But since then, Gus has learned which toys are Chunk's.

Funny thing; we were originally going to call him "General Buck Turgidson" after the kooky character--of the same name--from the movie, Dr. Strangelove. But when we saw him and his litter mates, he was definately a chunky little dude (our breeder called him "Shovel"!). So "Chunk" popped into my wife's head, and it stuck!

I don't know how often we'll post, since we're watching this little fella all the time (sleeping right now), but we'll be sure to keep you updated.

Thanks BoxerWorld members!
